イーラン・ラファエル、テキスタイルアーティスト/デザイナー。主に文化は個々人の思想の反映だと考え、個々人が対面する様々な問題の受け方を思考と行動に分け、感情的かつ物理的に表現する。対象を収集、分析/分解、再構築することにより、彼を取り巻く世界観を表現。多文化社会にも影響を受け、彼が創りだす作品はモチーフの過去と彼の未来を語る。
– Biography –
Ilan Raphael is a textile artist and designer who looks to all forms of culture as a reflection of how individual minds and bodies find different ways to deal with the same problems in life, and through their own creativity, evolve physically and emotionally in order to create meaning. In his process he aims to learn, sample, cut up, break down, and piece back together ideas and forms in search of new ways to perceive the world around him. He does this by interacting with different cultures and perspectives to affect his own creative process and hopefully to create new forms that both speak to the past and illustrate his own future.
