ARTnSHLTER in collaboration with Waiming Wee, founder/curator of Ebury Bridge Arts, London, proudly presents the 1^st edition of Shinagawa International Animation Festival between 9^th and 20^th November 2017.

For the first time, the animation festival explores and celebrates the transformation of animations in various forms, styles and technologies outside Japan. It brings together a range of motion artists, filmmakers, designers, musicians and technologists, all of whom are pushing the boundaries and creativity of their field.

It looks into the present and future of animation and how it is different from the well-established animation world in Japan. From BAFTA (British Academy Film and Television Awards) to Sundance Film Festival, each of these animation pieces holds a strong credential in the TV and filming industry as well as brands like Google, Coca-Cola, Honda to name a few.

Approximately one-hour showcase of animation works from Nexus Studios, Second Home Animation Studios, North Kingdom, Kettle Studio and Autour De Minuit.

2017年11月9日(木曜日)から2017年11月20日(月曜日)の期間、品川区にあるARTnSHELTERはイギリス、ロンドンのEbury Bridge Arts 創業者/キュレーターであるWaiming Weeとの共同主催による第一回品川国際アニメーションフェスティバルを開催します。

第一回目にあたる品川国際アニメーションフェスティバルは世界各国から多くのアニメスタジオ、デザイナー、音楽家、技術者などが作品を提供し、それらのスタイルは各クリエーターの専門技術により枠にとらわれない創造性に富んだ作品になっています。

BAFTA やSundance Film Festivalで賞をとった作品、グーグルやコカコーラ、ホンダなど大手企業のブランディングにも使われる作品が上映される今回は、アニメ文化が深く根付く国内作品とは異なる形でアニメーション産業の今と将来を照らし出します。

[Curator’s Statement:]

Waiming Wee, founder/curator of Ebury Bridge Arts lives and works in London, UK. She is a producer for interactive works, who has produced both commercial and artistic works for Nissan, ASICS, Sony VAIO, Samsung, HD DVD, Hayward Gallery, Lisbon Architecture Triennale and STRP Festival Eindhoven. As well as an installation artist, her works focus on spatial culture and anthropology that interacts with the audience. She has exhibited her “Play Revolution” series in London and book maze (deconstructive version) in SIngapore.

イギリス、ロンドンにあるEbury Bridge Artsの創業者/キュレータのWaiming Weeはインタラクティブなアイディアを中心に日産、アシックス、 Sony VAIO、Samsung、 HD DVD、 Hayward Gallery、 Lisbon Architecture Triennale and STRP Festival Eindhovenなど数多くの企業と提携しキュレーターとして活動する一方、インスタレーション作家としても人類学、空間演出の観点から作品作りを行っています。近年彼女の手がけるプロジェクト、Play Revolutionはロンドンとシンガポールでも展示されました。
